 Monday,Nov.7th-Travel Lecture: Crossing Ethiopia
Meet the author and photographer John Snyder in a special travel lecture where he will discuss his trek across Ethiopia on foot and by mule. In 1972, Snyder retraced the route taken by Emperor Tewodros and his army in 1864 to confront a British army at Magdala. Snyder recorded his trip with stunning black-and-white photographs taken with a large-format camera. These photographs, hidden for 40 years, have now been published in a book entitled "Crossing Ethiopia." This event is free and open to the public.
Program begins at 7PM at the Maine Girls' Academy, 631 Stevens Ave., Portland.  Light refreshments will be provided and all are welcome to attend.
